Consular Services in Russia

Visitors requiring consular assistance should not join the visa queue but should make themselves known to the visa marshall or guard at the entrance to visa/consular section.

The Consular Section is part of the British Embassy in Moscow. Her Majesty's Consul-General and her staff are here to look after the interests of British citizens visiting or living within the Moscow Consular District. This area consists of the whole of the Russian Federation excluding:

- the city of St Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and the oblasts of Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod, Vologda, Murmansk and Archangel which are covered from our Consulate General in St Petersburg .

- the oblasts of Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Kurgan, Orenburg, Tyumen, the autonomous districts of Komi-Permyatskiy, Khanty-Mansiyskiy and Yamalo-Nenetskiy and the Republics of Bashkiria and Udmurtia, which is covered from our Consulate General in Ekaterinburg .

As a general principle, we aim to attend to all visitors within 15 minutes of their arrival or offer an appointment for a later time. Outside working hours and on public holidays we maintain a consular emergency service. Please telephone the Embassy on +7 (495) 956 7200. The Duty Officer will respond to calls within one hour.
