Climate Security
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, through the British Embassy in Moscow, supports policies to tackle climate security in Russia. This is done via funding of projects through the Strategic Programme Fund (SPF) Programme. The aim of the programme is to support Departmental Strategic Priority 7: 'To promote a low carbon, high growth, global economy.'
The Climate Change and Climate Security is at the top of the UK Government agenda.
The UK Prime Minister Sir Gordon Brown said:
“The climate change crisis is the product of many generations, but overcoming it must be the great project of this generation. And this project will have to involve not just America and Europe, but the entire community of nations”.
