Army Cooperation Programme
Bilateral military contacts between the British Army and the Russian Ground Forces are intended to improve mutual understanding and build trust through the exchange of ideas and experiences. Contacts take the form of visits by senior officers and their staffs to Russia and Great Britain respectively. Areas of particular interest have included training for Peace Support and Peacekeeping Operations; Recruiting, Retention and Resettlement; Logistics and Medical; Senior NCO Training; and Legal Services. One example of the exchange of ideas and experience is the training of UK Officers at the Russian UN Monitoring School at the Vystrel Academy, north of Moscow. Specific activities are planned for 2009, and details will follow once they have been confirmed.
